Turlough O'Carolan was a blind, traveling harpist
and poet. He wrote airs, laments and dance tunes
in the traditional Irish style of the 17th and 18th
centuries with often very obvious nods towards the
fashionable Italian style of Corelli and Geminiani
(who died in Dublin in 1762).
